Mano Nella Mano 2017

For the second time Dario Pegoretti has created three frames in cooperation with students of the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design - a spectacular symbiosis of the Italian art of building frames and singular design. The proceeds will be donated to the Stuttgart children hospice.

An enthusiasm for cycling, a commitment to this work, and, above all, a determination to help.

The initial idea about spending time together and designing something together eventually became a workshop, about which Pegoretti says: “I felt at home. Being with the students has given me the opportunity to see my work in a new light. I hope that I have satisfied some of their longing for knowledge and discovery and have helped them to interpret the bicycle in a new way. It was truly fantastic.”

For days we sat together, thinking, drawing, building and designing. Eventually, the different ideas became merged into a unique work: the interpretation of skin structure and pores unfolds on the top tube, the dazzle camouflage of British first Word War ships decorates the fork and the subway map inspired patterns adorn the head tube.

The Reason

100% of the profit received from the bike frame auction will be donated to the Stuttgart Children Hospice.

Contrary to the popular opinion, most of the children don’t suffer from cancer, but from incurable diseases like mucoviscidosis, neurodegenerative and metabolic diseases. Affected families often get to the limits of their capacities in their everyday life. To provide this kind of service, the Stuttgart Children Hospice is currently building a new home to help families bypass bottlenecks in their domesticity. The new facility will open in late fall 2017, and is grateful for every support. All the participants in this collaboration wish to support the multifaceted work of the Stuttgart Children Hospice.

Dario Pegoretti is the first choice among racing bike designers. His bikes are ridden by the very best. These frames are precious and rare.

Often people have to wait for more than a year for one of Dario’s masterpieces. But when you’re finally in the bicycle saddle and have smoothly travelled the first few miles, you know that your bike is one of a kind. This is a racing bike that will last a lifetime – precisely tailored, individually designed to personal requirements, outstanding paintwork, every component crafted by hand with the greatest care and many years of skill and experience. Some people prefer mounting their frames on the wall as works of art rather than actually riding them. His work is unconventional just like Dario himself.

"Cutis"

Why do we feel such an aversion to sweat and sweaty people?

Whether you are climbing up a mountain, taking part in a competition or just on your way to work, perspiration drips from your forehead and trick-les down onto your legs. Your skin is clammy and your hair sticks to your temples. Yuck!

We looked at perspiration and skin samples under a microscope. The fascinating structures we found inspired and helped us create interesting designs that reflect and symbolises the emotions expressed while riding a bike.

There is hardly anything more competitive than road cycling. So you better be well prepared.

Beat your opponents with Dazzle Camouflage. If it worked for the british navy in WW I, why shouldn‘t it work for roadcyclists? Sneak opon the race leader allow him to be lulled into a false sense of security, then attack.

Forget about not being seen, that only solves their first problem. Anticipate your oppoonents actions, then exploit any weakness in the right moment with the great performance of this frame painted in the style of former british war ships.
